This morning (Monday July 26) when we powered up the nest camera
receiver and monitor at Jetty Island we discovered that the
remaining Osprey nestling was apparently dead. According to the
park staff that had been on Jetty Island Sunday, the youngster was
being fed and things appeared normal. I don't know how much time
they had to watch the nest activities with the large weekend
crowds they had to manage. The male returned to the nest several
times during the morning but we never saw the female at the nest
today. The male actually stood on the body several times
including once on the head. I guess it's the end of the show for
this nest for the season.
