Hello all,

There's less than three weeks left before I fly out to Washington, and I'm thinking about changing my itinerary. I had planned to look for 3-toed peckers and Williamson's sapsuckers in the northern part of the state, but now I plan to spend my limited inland time in the south-central area. Following are the woodpeckers I would like to see; any suggestions on specific locations would be most appreciated:

White-headed: everyone says the Wenas campground is best, so that's where I'm going.
Lewis': Looking for suggestions, especially locations near Yakima.
3-toed: Again, looking for suggestions. Any proven spot along, or near, the US Hwy 12 corridor would be best.

Since I'm only spending two days inland during my weeklong trip, I won't be terribly disappointed if I don't see all these birds. Also, I know August isn't the best time for these guys, but I planned this trip around an August pelagic voyage.

One other thing - are black swift still reliable in the Marblemount-Newhalem area by mid-August? Thanks in advance for your help; you've been great so far!
