A brief search for purple martins before work today was fruitful at the
Ballard public access, with at least 16 very animated martins among the 12
gourds at about 6:30. Another stop at the Utah Ave wetland in Discovery Park
yielded no martins among the 7 gourds, but a smaller swallow (violet green?)
was briefly atop the western set. Then I went to Interbay by pier 90/91,
where there were two pairs of martins among the two sets of pilings by
Seattle Photoworks. This evening I'll try to survey the lower Duwamish and
Jack Block Park.

Last Thursday I got a report from a reliable source of a purple martin
fly-by at Gene Coulon Park in Renton.
