I once thought I saw an Allen's hummingbird on Klahane Ridge in Olympic
National Park in the summer of 1980. Looked like a green-backed rufous.
Then Sibley came along and made me question this (and a lot of other)
sightings. In the field, how can one tell the difference between the
orange-rumped adult male Allen's and the green-backed adult male rufous?
