While out on a field trip to look at Osprey nests with Carol Boyer's 5th
grade class from Elma Elementary School today, there was a sighting of a
single Sandhill Crane flying overhead. The crane was seen from the WDFW
boat launch on the Chehalis River in Montesano next to the lumber mill
there. I personally didn't see the crane, but it was sighted and confirmed
by other birders. I'm reporting it since it seems like an odd sighting for
this time of year.
