Tweets,

I'm a bit troubled by a complete lack of Oregon Vesper Sparrows at places I would normally expect to
be seeing or hearing them. I've spent some time on the Artillary Impact Area of Fort Lewis, the Olympia
Airport, Scatter Creek Wildlife Area, and Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve. I have yet to hear or see
one this year. I'd like to know if anyone else has seen or heard them in western Washington this spring.

A juvenile Golden Eagle was soaring over the Olympia Airport today as I surveyed the lupine field for Puget
Blue butterflies.

Streaked Horned Larks put on a pretty good show for me, singing from low and high.
