A bit late, but here's the May report for turkey vulture sightings.
Following are turkey vulture reports from British Columbia, Washington, and
Oregon for May 2004:

01 -- 1 near Raymond; 2 soaring near Fall City
02 -- 2 at Rice Bar, Garfield County; 1 with 2 adult bald eagles in Maple
Ridge, B.C.; 4 at the Julia Butler WR, 4 others in the area; 1 at Knob
Hill, Vancouver Island, B.C.
03 -- 13 kettling over Anacortes
04 -- 2 soaring over Fall city; 2 over Tollgate Farms near North Bend; 1
over Sammamish; 2 near Dillworth on Vashon; 1 over Vashon town; 1 over
Bowerman Basin
05 -- 1 over Bainbridge near Hyla School
06 -- 1 over Sammamish
08 -- 1 at Nisqually NWR; 7 along Hwy 12; 11 along N. Blockhouse Road; 9
along the Brady Loop Road; (?) over plowed and misty fields in Elma; 1 over
Vashon Island; 5 at the River 'S' Unit at Ridgefield NWR; 1 at Rooney Lake,
Vancouver Island, B.C.; 1 at De Boville Slough, Coquitlam, B.C.
09 -- 6-8 sunning in the trees of the Neawanna Wetland Preserve; 2 just
north of Lake Ontario/ 50km east of Toronto (see - tweeters are everywhere
looking at vultures!); 1 near Coupeville on Whidbey Island being bombed by
a blackbird; (?) overhead along the Bethel Ridge Road; (?) at the Beaver
Ponds at Nanoose Bay
10 -- 11 soaring over the Chumstick Highway; 7 kettling over the Penticton
Airport , B.C.
11 -- 10 rising in the vicinity of Codd Island in Pitt Meadows, B.C.
12 -- 4 in the Campbell Lake area, B.C.; 1 near the Eve River hill,
Vancouver Island, B.C.; 1 at the Sayward hill brake check, Vancouver
Island, B.C.
13 -- 1 in the Grant Narrows area of Pitt Meadows, B.C.; 10 in a dead tree
scanning their fiefdom between Hope and Agassiz, B.C.
14 -- 3 cleaning up a "yummy, smelly seal" on the beach at Gibsons, B.C.; 7
in a dispute with 3 ravens near Duvall; 2 soaring above the river near
Monroe; 3 west of Hoquiam
15 -- 1 circling close to the ground near Cosco in Port Coquitlam, B.C.; 14
along the Brady Loop Road; 18 along the Wenzel Slough Road; 18 along Dunlap
Road; 2 over Ellensburg; 1 along the Nooksack River; 1 near Minnie Lake,
B.C.; 1 overhead at Exit 46/I-5; 1 at Gower Point, B.C.; 1 over the Iller
Creek CA, Spokane County; 1 north of Spokane
16 -- 1 very high on thermals over the Seattle I-90 lid; 1 north of
Woodlawn; 1 south of Vader; 2 at Boston Bar, B. C.; 1 at Sargeant's Bay,
B.C.; 3 near Sechelt, B.C.
17 -- 5 hunting over T27N, R44E, S35, SWSE!; 3 hunting along the Spokane
River; 1 west of Gibson's, B.C.; 1 near Hoquiam
19 -- 2 at Reifel Bird Sanctuary, B.C.; 1 sitting in a tree at Gower Point,
B.C.
20 -- 13 coming up out of the trees on the steep slopes down into Newaukum
Creek near Enumclaw; 1 over Gower Point, B.C.; 2 over Smith Prairie,
central Whidbey Island
21 -- 1 on a freeway ramp in Eugene, Oregon; 9 at Malheur NWR; 1 over Gower
Point, B.C. (twice); 1 over Lower Crab Creek Road
22 -- 1 near Lake Easton SP; 1 over the Hoquiam River; 1 near Grass Creek;
13 south of Rennie Road
23 -- 7 along Dunlap road (with additional single birds nearby); 1 over the
CP Rail yard, B.C.; 1 (several times) over Gower Point, B.C.
24 -- 1 over the CP Rail yard, B.C. (maybe the same bird on a regular
schedule); 4 over the west field at Reifel Bird Sanctuary, B.C.; 3 west of
Hoquiam
25 -- (?) along US12; 1 at Rock Creek Road, Klickitat County; 1 between
Rock Creek and Bickleton; 2 south of Mabton; 1 near Lime Kiln SP
26 -- (?) near Vernon, B.C.; 1 near Lime Kiln SP; 3 at Grass Creek; 1 at
Reifel Bird Sanctuary, B.C.
29 -- 9 circling over Rennie Road, B.C.; 2 at Eastern Columbia Gorge,
Rowland Lake
30 -- 32 sitting in a field near Rannie Road, Pitt Meadows, B.C.;
31 -- 3 west of Montesano; 1 west of the Wynoochee River

Thanks for your sightings; they are very welcome! Where you see (?), it
means no number was given and probably means 1-2. Seems like a few more
larger groups this late spring, or more watchers noticing. These birds are
neat to notice, so don't forget to look up.
