Ed,

Yours is the third odd west-side Chukar sighting that I have heard in the
last month or so. The first was from a woman in Puyallup who said she had
a Chukar coming to a feeder in her yard. Then a week or so ago a fellow
in Northeast Tacoma reported he had a Chukar in his neighborhood in
Browns Point. He even sent along a photo, which was enough to send me out
on a wild Chukar chase that afternoon. I failed to find the Chukar, but I
have no doubt that the bird in the photo was in the neighborhood, and in
this case the yard was in a development where it seemed unlikely that the
bird would have escaped from anyone living nearby.

Interesting sighting.
