Greetings,
Here is a long, late report of a trip with Carol Schulz before and during
the WOS convention in Moscow, Idaho. Altogether I had 158 species. It was a
great week of exploring new, highly scenic areas in Idaho and far eastern
Washington.

WEATHER: Wednesday-Thursday it was sunny, warm. During the day it got up to
82, at night down to 65. Calm on Wed., NE 5-8 on Thurs. Friday was very
pleasant in the morning, but got up to 89 degrees in the afternoon. Saturday
was cooler and very nice in the areas I visited, other areas got rained upon
that day. Wind S 5-10mph. Sunday the weather was against us, with a 10-20mph
wind from the south in most places. Temps were in the 70's, it was mostly
sunny. We ran into much rain on the way home.

Western Flycatcher (9): The males vocalizing were giving a bewildering array
of position notes, some strongly suggestive of Cordilleran and distinct from
anything I hear on the westside. Visually the birds were fused with yellow
more so than most Pac-slopes at this season. 'Western Flys' here obviously
deserve further attention.
