Ian,

It's beginning to sound like you're grasping, looking for a place to land.
First it was a book about bird books but not field guides; then it was field
guides; now it's unconventional views of common birds.

Sounds like the folks who aren't happy to keep a basic life list, but feel
the need to have a variety of lists, such as city, county, and state lists;
birds observed in the frontyard, in the backyard, from the second floor or garage;
birds they hear from the tub, ad infinitum.

Good grief, Charlie Brown! What's next? What ever happened to just going for
a walk and enjoying the birds you encounter along the way?

He said, as he stepped down from his soapbox........
