Thursday, June 3rd, 10:14 PM. Hi, this is Tom Aversa calling. This is for a
trip today at the Skagit, Fir Island, Game Range. There was a adult male
REDSTART on the road between the two parking lots at the game range, maybe the same
bird that was reported a week and a half or so ago. Don't know. Very actively
singing. Might stick around. Bye bye.

Sunday, June 6th, 5:41 PM. Hi, this is Steve Mlodinow. It is June 6th. Just
had a female HOODED-WARBLER, actually the well-marked end of a female HOODED
WARBLER, at Sun Lakes State Park. Going north along the coulee lakes, take Park
Lake Road which runs along the east side of Sun Lakes and takes you to Sun
Lakes State Park eastern entrance. Just at the edge of the park turn into the
first parking lot. Go to the south end of the first parking lot. There is a thick
growth of trees and tangles, and what looks like poison ivy, what looks like
poison ivy, and the bird was in there. Good luck and good birding.

Tuesday, June 8th, 8:05 AM. Hi, Patricia Lott again and apparently my cell
phone wasn't sending a strong enough signal. GAMBLE'S QUAIL at the Lyon's Ferry
Fish Hatchery yesterday at 3:00 PM, had a dark little belly patch on the male.
Both sexes had unmarked yellowish upper belly and strong reddish brown flanks
streaked with cream color. The male had a rufous crown. The call was downward
inflected. Didn't sound like California Quail and with zero scaling on these
birds. We did hear other quail that sounded awful like the ones we heard and
observed for quite sometime in very good sunlight as they walked across the
road in front of us twice at a distance of about 30 feet and then flew short
distances around the holding ponds or what ever you call them in the fish
hatchery. A really nice place to bird: BLUE-WINGED TEAL there, SHOVELER chicks, a
BREWER'S BLACKBIRD nest, BANK SWALLOWS, so a great place. Number is 206-362-6035.

Wednesday, June 9th, 9:08 PM. This is Rachel Lawson, BirdBox system
administrator. This is a report from John O'Connell. His phone number is 360-299-4375.
Today, June 9th, in Monroe, at about 11:30 AM, he saw 3 female YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRDS and 1 adult male BLACK SCOTER at the South end of Lake Tie, which is
immediately west of Frilance Boulevard SE. That's it. Good Birding.

Thursday, June 10th, 3:58 PM. This is Shelley Duvillier. At 1:45 PM today on
Venuri Island in Coronet Bay, near the Deception Pass State Park bridge I got
a really good, long 4 minute look at a perfect textbook species of an adult
female BLUE GROSBEAK. She was complete with the dark orange body from her crown
to her flank and she also had the red or the rufous wing bars. The environment
I saw her in was on my A-frame deck in a combination of heavy woods and high
grass. She looked like she was looking for insects in my container garden and
trying to decide if my birdbath was safe enough to use. It is lower than most
birdbaths. I know that my sibling says that Central Oregon is the farthest
north that they have been spotted, and I was very excited. So, God bless and good
birding.
