Hi Tweeters,

After a long time away from town and chances to visit
the Medina Park herons yesterday I got there. The
nests are easy to look at as a vertical stack. The
top nest has 4 babies, the second has 3, and the third
nest down from the top I call the Big Nest, had a huge
succes with 5 chicks, 2 of which have fledged but were
around in the am when one of the parents returned with
chow. The bottom nest has 2 chicks, much younger than
all the others. They still have pinfeathers for
flight feathers. Only a bit of feather sticking out
the top of the "pin" or sheath.

I have been gone so long I have no idea where the
Bullock's Oriole nests are at Medina. I hope I can
locate them before they fledge. I did see one fledged
Red Breasted Nuthatch. Also a Green Heron flew over
and a female Kingfisher was fishing there.

Medina Park directions:
NE 8th exit off I405, go West on NE 8th, past Bellevue
Square, it enters a residential area and turns into
NE12th. At the 5 way stop (not light), Chevron on
your left, the park is across from the Chevron past
the intersection. Park in the NE 12th lot and the
heron tree is right in front of you bending over a
pond.
