Both last year and this year we've put up swallow houses outside our second
story bedroom window. Last year, we put up one house and had tree swallows
move in. This year, we put up two houses, and have a pair of tree swallows
and a pair of violet green swallows. Both years, we were woken up
repeatedly at around 3:30am-4am by the sound of swallows- they're still at
it now.

Personally, I love the sound- we have the windows open and it's completely
silent except for the swallows- what a wonderful chorus!
