Subject: Green Heron in Skagit County

I am aware of a couple of confirmed Green Heron nests, one near The Evergreen
State College west of Olympia in 1980 and one off Cooper Point Road, not far
from The Evergreen State College, this spring.

However, I feel certain that Green Herons nest regulary in a vast area of the
lowland Puget Trough. The species appears to have expanded its range and become
relatively common here in the past 30 years.
