Hello Gary and Tweeters,
It was the year of 1998 when I got a call from a house close to mine. The caller was a neighbor and said that she have 4 large Heron in her pond.As I got there I could hardly believe my eye. There was 4 juvenile Green Herron in her small pond .I was sitting for about a halve hour and this birds was moving all over the yard including sitting on the large white wooden Patio Furniture. This birds was supposed to been there the year of 1997also but no one came to ID this birds.Chris Parent wrote a neat story in the WOS NEWS and the Tahoma Audubon The front cover is the Herron sitting on the patio cheer.Fircrest is a heaven for birds in you yard, there also is a marsh where we had Virginia Rails and a Barred Owl on the CBC.In Tacoma I know in Tacoma of two more nesting of Green Herron. The hest letter wrote"HERONS IN A SUBURBAN BACKYARD "

Cheers Ruth Sullivan
