Eight RED CROSSBILLS were at the bird feeders behind the bird store at 6404 Metral Drive in north Nanaimo.

Sunday June 13:
Twelve Sunday birders went on the Sunday Bird Walk to the Cable Bay Trail in Cedar
and found the following forty species:

Saturday June 12:
EVENING and BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS were seen in the 5600 block of Lost Lake Road in north Nanaimo.
Twelve RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS and TREE SWALLOWS are comming to a yard along the Jingle Pot Road near Kirkpatrick in Nanaimo.

Thursday June 10:
A RED-EYED VIREO was heard and seen on top of Fir trees at the end of Lodgepole Road near the train tracks.
A CINNAMON TEAL was seen near South Road on Gabriola Island.

Wednesday June 09:
An OSPREY was spotted above Rutherford Road and highway 19A in north Nanaimo.
Five CASPIAN TERNS were seen on a sand bar with Gulls at the Englishman River Estuary in Parksville.
A BARRED OWL was sighted at the gate at the end of Shelly Road on the way to the Englishman River Estuary in Parksville.
An OSPREY was seen above the Englisnman River Estuary in Parksville.
A pair of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen for twenty minutes in the 1200 block of Scotchtown Road in South Wellington.

Tuesday June 08:
A YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was seen at the Morningstar Golf Course in French Creek.

This Sunday bird walk June 20, will be going to Doumont gravel pit.
Meet at the store at 8:30 am or at the entrance to Doumont gravel pit just off Doumont
Road at about 8:40 am.
