We've had a Green Heron here on the northwest shore of Long Lake (Thurston
County) for years; I never thought it was worth remarking on. Of course, I
don't know if the same bird has been here all this time; I've never seen
more than one at a time, and I've never seen juveniles, but they almost
surely nest nearby.
