Hello, this is the Audubon society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 17. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On June 15 a possible MOURNING WARBLER was seen near the Allison Guard
Station in the Malheur NF north of Burns. An OVENBIRD was reported June 9 on
Winter Ridge, west of Summer Lake.

On June 9 a WESTERN SANDPIPER was at Summer Lake. On June 13 two
SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS and a RED-NECK PHALAROPE were at Fern Ridge Reservoir.
On June 14 20 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS were on the North Spit of Coos Bay. The
next day three WESTERN SANDPIPERS and a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER were there.

On June 15 a female CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was near the top of Saddle Mountain
east of Seaside. On June 14 a SCRUB-JAY was at Yachats on the central coast..

A flock of 30 WESTERN GREBES were on Vancouver Lake and three pairs of
REDHEADS were on Post Office Lake June 12. On June 14 a number of RED-EYED
VIREOS and WILLOW FLYCATCHERS were on territory in the extensive hybrid
popular plantations in Scappoose Bottoms. On June 14 a BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON was at Ramsey Lake in North Portland. There are now a pair of
EASTERN KINGBIRDS at the Sandy River Delta.

On June 12 two WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS and several CHATS were upstream from
the Deschutes River State park. Also on June 12 two male EURASIAN WIGEON
were at the lake on Gutierrez Ranch near Paulina. A PALM WARBLER and a
REDSTART were seen June 11 in Fields. A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was at Malheur
NWR June 12, along the south CPR.
