Oh yeah, what a great idea. Assuming it could be caught without trampling
down all the habitat, perhaps they could wing-tag the bird and add some
radios just to make sure it was the same individual. :-)

Somebody sitting down for a few hours with a pair of binoculars would be
able to tell you whether there was more than one bird present so why bother
disturbing the bird(s) with all the attendant risks for no other reason than
the convenience of a few people.
