Dear Tweeters,

Today (June 17) at about 9:45 AM there was a Black
Tern at the Green Road Pond. This location is in
Skagit County, just off the Cook Road Exit (# 232)
from Interestate 5. Drive north on Green Road from
Cook Road, then stop at the north end of Green, just
before a little bridge. The tern was coursing over the
pond's east edges.

There are fewer than ten records of the species in
Skagit County--I know of several at the Green Road
Pond, one by the Cannery Pond by Anacortes Ferry
Landing, and one or two at Barnaby Slough.
