This falls under the "everything is relative" category, I am an S-F fan (we hate
the term sci-fi :-))
I do role-playing games and I love birding. My S-F friends think it is utterly
bazaar to have a hobby which entails pre-dawn rising, exposure to outside
elements and bugs all for the purpose of looking at birds, in other words to
them I am the weirdo. However I do agree with you on the cat people thing. I
would love to hear about some the writers you met, off line, of course.
