Good morning Tweeters,
The highlight of this morning's ramble through Lincoln Park was a pileated woodpecker, beautifully backlit by the early-morning sun. I even managed to get an identifiable photo. I also had a very nice view of a mature bald eagle perched by the bluff trail. Both were being harassed by crows. (Yesterday the harassment went in reverse as I watched a hawk (sharp-shinned or Cooper's, couldn't tell) chase a crow through the same section of woods in which I saw the woodpecker.) Other characters du jour included a Wilson's warbler, Pacific slope flycatcher, a young winter wren with a prominent white tailfeather, Swainson's thrush, plus the other more usual suspects.
