Subject: strange duck in Olympia

Hi, tonight at dusk on Capitol Lake in Olympia there was a duck sitting on a
log with a merganser. It was quite small. When it walked on the log, it just
slogged along. Obviously a diver.
When I saw it I instantly thought "Oldsquaw" or Longtail I guess they are
called now.
I took a couple of poor pictures. Can anyone give me a guess? I am thinking
an eclipse bird. I am familiar with Buffleheads and Harlequin...didn't think
it was a scoter.

I will be back on Tuesday with better lighting looking for the bird.
