Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 24. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On June 19 a WHITE-WINGED DOVE was seen near Charleston. An OVENBIRD was in
Hines June 18. A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK is summering at a Myrtle Point
feeder; another male ROSE-BREASTED was at Mt. Tabor Park in southeast
Portland June 19.

BLUE-WINGED TEAL are unusually conspicuous in Western Oregon this summer
with numbers being reported from many areas, including the Fernhill
wetlands, Fern Ridge Reservoir, and from Svenson, east of Astoria.

A HEERMANN?S GULL was at Yaquina Bay June 16. A CHAT was in Seaside June 19,
and a pair of BULLOCK?S ORIOLES were at Westport June 21.

On June 18 seven WHITE PELICANS were at Smith Lake in North Portland. Two
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seen June 19 flying over southeast Portland
toward Ross Island. On June 23 a CLARK?S GREBE was at the Fernhill Wetlands..

On June 17 nine CASPIAN TERNS were seen flying over Corvallis. Several
CASPIAN TERNS, WHITE PELICANS, an AVOCET, a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, and three
GREATER YELLOWLEGS are summering at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On June 21 two
LEAST SANDPIPERS were there. An EASTERN KINGBIRD was seen June 22 at Falls
Creek Dam east of Eugene.

On June 22 a MOCKINGBIRD was south of Madras.
