Hello Tweeters,
Yesterday late evening we discover the Juvenile Merlin what been around here for some time.We counted this bird on the CBC.We had Merlin's before here but never we had one direct close to our house. This bird stayed in a tall Cedar tree last night .But this morning he was again only to perch on the high poplar trees. As we watched this bird few crows flew in and mobbed the Merlin as he flew across the street in our neighbors yard.So we have now three predators, one adult sharp-shinned Hawk and one adult Coopers Hawk what only comes occasional. From around twenty Varied Thrushes here in our yard we still have six left feeding on the unsalted peanuts taken six nuts at one time flying of and eat them in the yard. The Merlin must be going the birds are back in full force.
