The featured bird is GREAT GRAY OWL.


Sightings for February 29th

The GREAT GRAY OWLS, both at Colony Farm in Port Coquitlam
and along Wesbrook Mall south of 16th Avenue at the University of B.C.
in Vancouver, continue to be seen.

The HARRIS'S SPARROW continues at the Dunsmuir Community
Gardens near Blackie Spit, Surrey. Also here were 4 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS.

Along the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty in Delta were a ROCK SANDPIPER,
a WILLET, 5 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS, a PEREGRINE FALCON
and 4 BRANT.

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta were an immature NORTHERN
GOSHAWK, 2 NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWLS, an adult
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON and 4 SANDHILL CRANES.

In West Vancouver at Garrow Bay Park were 150 SURFBIRDS and
an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD. Nearby at Kloochman Park were
2 BRANDT'S CORMORANTS and 5 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS.

Along Rannie Road in Pitt Meadows was an AMERICAN KESTREL.


Sightings for February 28th

On the south side of the Tsawwassen ferry jetty in Delta were a
ROCK SANDPIPER and 2 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS.

In a muddy field at 33A Avenue and 41B Street in Delta was a
MARBLED GODWIT.

At Beach Grove in Tsawwassen, just east of Beach Grove Park, were a
TOWNSEND'S WARBLER and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.

At Templeton Road on Sea Island were 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS.


There were no reports for February 26th or 27th.


Sightings for February 25th

At Mound Farm Park in Surrey were a CHIPPING SPARROW, a
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and an immature GOLDEN EAGLE.

At Colony Farm were the GREAT GRAY OWL, a BARN OWL, 2 BARN
SWALLOWS and 2 TREE SWALLOWS.

The HARRIS'S SPARROW continues at Dunsmuir Community Gardens
at Blackie Spit, Surrey.


Sightings for February 24th

The GREAT GRAY OWL near the BC Research offices (on Wesbrook Mall
south of 16th Ave. near the University of BC), and the other GREAT
GRAY OWL in the north fields at Colony Farm on the Port Coquitlam
side, continue to be seen by many birders.

At Mound Farm Park in Surrey was an immature GOLDEN EAGLE.

The 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS continue at the mouth of the Serpentine River
in Surrey (Mud Bay Park).
