February 23, 2004, Tuesday, 9:07 p.m. Hi, this is Greg Toffic. I
birded yesterday in southern Snohomish County mostly, and at two
locations there were singing WESTERN MEADOWLARKS. One location was near
the bridge over Riley Slough on Tualco Loop Road near the Monroe Two
Rivers Unit, and also at the recreation area at the end of Eide Road,
west of Stanwood. Also there were two SPOTTED SANDPIPERS at Priest
Point.

February 26, 2004, Friday, 7:09 a.m. Hi, this is Tom Aversa, birding
today on the Skagit and Samish Flats area. The GYRFALCON is still
hanging out at the West 90. There was quite a few raptors around today
for we had at least 10 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS on the Samish Flats, four dark
morphs. Also, quite a few HARLAN'S HAWKS, at least two HARLAN'S HAWKS
in the Samish Flats that are both adults. Also, two HARLAN'S HAWKS on
Fir Island, including a light morph at the north end of the island.
Thanks. Also, I should note that there was at least 65 drake EURASIAN
WIGEONS on the Samish Flats, among at least 7,000 or 8,000 AMERICANS and
that's what I could see, so there's probably more than that.
