Today, Penny Koyama, Steve Dang, and I saw our first Rufous Hummingbird
of the season, a beautiful, bright male. It was in the shrubby area at
Iverson Spit County Park, on Camano Island in Island County. There were
several Red-flowering Currant bushes coming into bloom close to where we
saw the hummingbird, and a few salmonberry flowers were popping out, as
well.
