Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 4. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

The FALCATED DUCK first seen February 14, then disappeared, was seen again
March 3 on Kirk Pond at the base of the Fern Ridge Reservoir Dam. The LUCY?S
WARBLER continues to come to Sheila Chambers? hummingbird feeders in
Brookings.

On February 27 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was seen on Yaquina Bay.

On february 26 a ROSS?S GOOSE was at Steigerwald NWR near Washougal. On
February 28 two SAY?S PHOEBES were there. That day a hybrid
WHITE-CROWNED/GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was on Sauvie Island. The Island is now
swarming with large numbers of SANDHILL CRANES, especially on the east side
of the Island. BALD EAGLES are common there now, and on February 25 a record
high 69 were at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

The TUFTED DUCK continues to be seen occasionally at Finley NWR. On February
25, 25 COWBIRDS were at Mt. Pisgah, near Eugene. A EURASIAN TEAL was at
Merlin March 1.

On February 27 a BEWICK?S WREN was along Pine Creek, east of Clarno. A
MOCKINGBIRD was in Klamath Falls March 1.
