I had three species of swallows today west of Othello. The TREE and VIOLET-GREEN were expected by now. The CLIFF seemed rather early. A flock of 600 SANDHILL CRANES was landing at a roost at 1:45 pm 2 miles east of Corfu, very late for local feeders which makes me think they came in with a tail-wind today. Corfu Road had a NORTHERN SHRIKE, while Lower Crab Creek Road heading east had four territories occupied by LOGGERHEAD SHRIKES, about one per mile.
