Subject: Bird sightings, Kittitas County Audubon walk at Reihart(sp?) park, Ellensburg

I recieved this from Gloria Baldi. From our trip last Saturday, March 6th,
2004. I was with her group and was absolutely amazed at her knowledge of the
birds. There were quite a few of us and we split up into two groups.

Hilite of the trip was watching a pair of Dippers collecting moss for a nest
- the location of which we have been sworn to secrecy and due to the extent
of the readership here. There was also a double crested cormorant trying to
eat a very large fish (appeared to be a carp by the color which appeared
yellowish to me - too large for a perch). It was quite entertaining.

I am reporting the birds here on account of the databases kept at Univ
Washington. As a former dot-com consultant, I can see no reason to put
"mailto" at the head of one's email signature unless this information is
cataloged in an html format. So in respect to the sciences, here is the list
of birds we seen:

Canada Goose
American Dipper
Black-capped Chickadee
Downy Woodpecker (lots of these)
Song Sparrow
Steller's Jay
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Flicker
Killdeer
Pied-billed Grebe
American Widgeon
Mallard
Ring-billed Gull
American Robin
Raven
Euopean Starling
Red-winged Blackbird
Bald Eagle
Red-tailed Hawk
Double Crested Cormorant
Dipper
