Advice needed here..



I would love to set up feeders around my house, but I do NOT want to
encourage starlings and other junk birds.



I've got some giant fir trees in my side yard that buzz like power
transmission lines, only the buzzing is from starlings in the tall branches.
They're most apparent in the spring and summer. I've even seen small flocks
of the nasty feathered rats cruise through in winter as well. How can I
encourage the good birds without attracting the junkers?



Without feeders I've had some nice ones visit the ancient and huge rhody
bush outside the living room window

Juncos

Kinglets

Bushtits

Towhees

Varied Thrushes (hanging out with their robin cousins)

Pine Siskin (?)

Song sparrow

White Crown sparrow

Steller Jays



A raven or two has lit in the tall fir trees, gronking awhile and then
moving on when the crows arrive..
