Subject: Gulls under the Gun!

Hello All,

Just returned home from a trip south to see the Falcated Duck, with success
I might add.

Upon our return was a message that Wildlife Services was up at the Walla
Walla City Dump blasting Gulls. I have not seen it yet, but understand the
reason they were invited in to kill and wound gulls was due to some folks
complaining about the gulls pooping on their vehicles while they dumped
their trash. One witness watched as this killer wing of the USDA blew close
to 50 gulls out of the air. He said that there were injured gulls running
around all over this big dump. He did not see the Wildlife Services gunners
making any attempt at humanely putting the suffering birds out of their
misery. As this guy left he said there were wounded gulls running around
with drooping wings and in great distress. This is unnecessary and only the
beginning of the plans to kill as many fish eating birds as possible in the
Lower Columbia Basin. Wildlife Services has no skills to figure out what
they are shooting. To them they are just gulls and great fun to shoot on top
of getting payed to do it. We can get use to this or speak up and get their
funding cut!

Later Mike
