I spent the day birding the lower Yakima Valley, mostly along
Pumphouse Rd., Lateral "C" Rd., Island Rd. and Marion Drain Rd. It
was an absolutely beautiful day for birding in the valley.

Highlites include 3 SANDHILL CRANES seen at three different locations
(although I think they may have been the same birds)Lateral "C" at
Toppenish Creek, Lateral "A" and Marion Drain, and Island Rd. Also 1
- SAY'S PHOEBE singing and staking out a territory, several NORTHERN
ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS, VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS, and a lone BARN
SWALLOW. 35 DUNLIN, 12 TUNDRA SWAN, 3 LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE.
