I made an eighth attempt Jim to see the shrike and again today, no luck I'm
afraid, the bird must know we are after him!! The Phoebe was not there
either today :( there was a kestrel hovering in the meadow, a few marsh
wrens, song sparrows and towhees, not a fruitful couple of hours I'm afraid.

I made my *fifth* unsuccessful attempt to find the northern shrike that
Michael Hobbs et al have been seeing for weeks at Marymoor Park in Redmond.

But I got a very nice consolation prize, finding a Say's phoebe flycatching
in just about the same place that the shrike has been, in the east meadow.

I first spotted it at around 2 pm, and it was still around when I returned
at 5:30.
