Tweeters,
I'm glad I put on a vest under my parka today: it's c-c-c-old out there, especially with that southerly breeze. It looks as if three RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS (male) have claimed territory near the goose exclusion area among the south bank cattails. Two were singing from lofty perches in the trees, while one was low down in the shrub layer. Still looking for the first swallows of the year at this location.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Gadwall (2)
Bufflehead (2; both male)
Double-crested Cormorant (5)
Red-tailed Hawk (soaring over the north part of the Boeing plant; then coasted to the north out of view)
Glaucous-winged Gull (9)
Rock Pigeon (11)
American Crow (13; eleven of which were on the east-bank power tower)
Bushtit (4; 2 on this side, and 2 near the goose exclusion area)
Bewick's Wren
European Starling (5)
Red-winged Blackbird (3; males)
House Finch (2)

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
