I was just up on the bluebird trail south of Ellensburg on Durr road
(Umptanum), 17 March 2004.

At least 4 western bluebirds actively building in the boxes. Also mountain
bluebirds, mostly in flocks but some on the boxes.

I also saw one sage thrasher. It was on top of one of the bluebird boxes -
one that a pair of bluebirds were building in. The bluebirds and the trasher
seemed to get along just fine.

Meadowlarks are back too. It was sunny up there an the meadowlarks were
singing for all but no one to hear but me.

OK, back to work...
