Bob - Kraig and Cathy Kemper and I checked out the feedlot today at about 11:00 a.m. and had more than 30 Tricoloreds on the nearest telephone pole, PLUS perhaps 20 on the ground (including several females) for a total of approximately FIFTY birds! There were more Tricolored Blackbirds than Red-winged Blackbirds. Also in the flock were Yellow-headed and Brewer's Blackbirds and Brown-headed Cowbirds.
Having them so close and so numerous was stunning.

Today I, and four others from the westside whose names escape me, had the largest number of tricolored blackbirds at the feedlot along McMannamon Rd west of the Para Ponds. We counted 22 at one time.
