Lisa Hardy reports a male TUFTED DUCK on the flooded fields near Cataldo,
Kootenai Co ID. This is the same location as year's sighting. The bird was
seen on the 9th, missed on the 15th, but seen again on the 16th. It's a big
area to check. To get there, take I-90 exit 34 (Rose Lake), turn north to
the T intersection and turn right onto Canyon Road. Go 1.9 miles, turn right
onto River Road. After you go over the interstate, turn right (downhill)
onto the graveled River Road. River Road runs south along the edge of the
flooded fields that are west of Tamarack Ridge; these fields can be seen
from the interstate. Very roughly a mile past the turn onto gravel, you will
see an open pasture on the left, and a street sign "Allgood Ct.". Start
looking and good luck. ID DeLorme 60, B-3.

The YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER is persisting at Hood Park in Walla Walla Co
WA. First seen on 19 Feb, it was seen by Matthew Moskwik on 14 Mar and by
Nancy Miller on 21 Mar. Interestingly, the Denny's couldn't find it on 15
Mar. Hood Park is located at the jct of US 12 and WA 124, in northwest Walla
Walla Co just southeast of Pasco. WA DeLorme 39, C-8.

On 21 Mar Bob Flores reports a record 22 TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS near Para
Ponds near Othello in Adams Co WA. The birds were at the feedlot on the
north side of McManamon Road to the west of Para Ponds. From Othello go
north on Broadway (west end of town extending north from WA 24) past the
processing and storage facilities, SVZ and cubing plant. When the road
crosses the RR tracks it becomes McManamon Road. Continue across the canal
and down the hill past the 2 potato sheds. The Para Ponds are just beyond on
both sides of the road. WA DeLorme 53, B-7.

On 21 Mar Tom and Diane Weber report 3 pairs of TRUMPETER SWANS on Texas
Lake in northwestern Whitman Co WA. WA DeLorme 72.

The BLUE JAY is persisting at the feeder of Dave Holick northeast of Moscow,
ID. This bird has been around for 4+ months. If you want to try for it, give
Dave a call at 208.882.5556.

If you have any questions about birds on the report, call me before 9 pm at
208.883.0943. If you see any of the birds mentioned in this report, be sure
to let me know.

Good birding.
