Subject: several Cooper's Hawks

Dear Tweeters,
Here in Skagit County, I have seen four Cooper's Hawks
in three days; that seems like a lot. One on Saturday
was perched next to Minkler Road, east of
Sedro-Woolley. It was a male adult, and flew after
some robins. Another was between Mount Vernon and
Conway on Sunday, making the blackbirds and starlings
nervous at a feedlot. Yesterday, I saw one at DeBay's
Slough, an adult male. Then later on in the day, I saw
another one by the Minkler Road, not the same bird I'd
seen there on Saturday, though. Only one one of the
three days was I really out birding; the other hawks
just seemed to pop up while I was running errands, so
it isn't like I'm going all out to find hawks.
Are other birders seeing "lots" of Cooper's lately?
=====
Yours truly,
