Subject: Critters! Bobcat Or Lynx????

My husband reported seeing a large feline running across the road today up
near Deming. It didn't have much of a tail, had long white tufts on the
ends of its ears, "side burns" and was yellowish with black splotchy
stripes. He said it was the size of the small female Labrador retriever
dog that visited our back yard today.

He said the cat dashed across the road in front of him, climbed on a rock
above the road and stared at Dave as he stared at it.

Okay, was it a bobcat or a lynx? I think it must have been a lynx because
I've know bobcats personally and the ones I knew were like big boned
scraggly Maine Coons, and the lynx I met was the size of a Labrador
retriever dog.

Any thoughts?
