Hello,
Lynx are larger than Bobcats, large footed, have a black tail tip, long ear tufts and an over all gray tone in the pelage. These spectacular wild cats live in the Selkirk, Okanogan Highlands with an apparent small population in the Blue Mountains. I spent several field seasons determining Lynx prey base abundance and habitat preferences in the Northern Blue Mountains in Oregon and Washington.
If you believe you have seen a Lynx please report it to the nearest U.S. Forest Service Field Biologist or Washington Dept.of Fish and Wildlife Biologist. This species is on the endangered species list and public land managers must manage accordingly.
