Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare bird Report. This report
was made Thursday March 25. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The LUCY?S WARBLER continues to be seen at Sheila Chamber?s feeders in
Brookings. The best opportunity to see the bird is late afternoon.

Migrations were heavy during the week . All swallow species, including
PURPLE MARTIN were seen. WHITE-THROATED SWIFT, CINNAMON TEAL, and
YELLOWTHROATS were reported, and CASPIAN TERNS are now all along the coast.

A ROCK SANDPIPER was just south of Seal Rock State Park March 24. A flock of
350 CANVASBACKS were on Youngs Bay near Astoria March 22.

A BURROWING OWL was at Steigerwald NWR near Washougal March 21. A
MOCKINGBIRD has been seen during the week along Moore Road near the
Scappoose Airport. On March 19 a MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD and a NORTHERN SHRIKE
were at the Sandy River Delta near Troutdale. Two LOGGERHEAD SHRIKES were
west of there March 22. Two BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS were at Tualatin
Hills Nature Park in Beaverton March 22.

The GYRFALCON continues to be seen at Baskett Slough NWR. On March 21 a
SAY?S PHOEBE and a VESPER SPARROW were at Detroit Flats in the Cascades east
of Salem. A SAY?S PHOEBE was at Fern Ridge Reservoir March 22. A male
BLUE-WINGED TEAL was near White City March 24.

Last week-end a MOCKINGBIRD was in Klamath Falls. Among the large flocks of
WHITE-FRONTED, SNOW, and ROSS?S GEESE in the Klamath Basin there were two
blue phase SNOW GEESE and a blue phased ROSS?S GOOSE.

On March 23 an extremely early EASTERN KINGBIRD was at Ladd Marsh near
LaGrande. LONG-BILLED CURLEWS are back at their eastern Oregon breeding
sites.
