Wow, an actual trip report on Tweeters?

Shawn and I took a trip over to E. WA yesterday (3/24) to visit Nunnally
Lake (in Lower Crab Creek Wildlife Area - Grant Co.), Ginkgo State Park and
parts of the Vantage HWY.

First highlight was a TURKEY VULTURE flying over Hwy 18 east near the Tiger
Summit area in King County. Saw three more on the east side along Hwy 10
West near Cle Elum.

Nunnally Lake (second parking area, see the Birder's Guide to WA for
details) I saw:
1 Scaup sp.
1 N. Harrier
2 Kestrels
many R/N Pheasants heard
7 California Quail
V/G Swallows
1 CLIFF SWALLOW
G/C and R/C Kinglets
1 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE
4 Cedar Waxwings
1 Y/R Warbler
W/C Sparrow (gambelli)

Ginkgo State Park overlook had:
3 Eared Grebe (down below)
3 Say's Phoebe
2 W. Meadowlark

Ginkgo Petrified Forest Interpretive Trail (never hiked before, kind of a
nice little walk):
1 N. Flicker (both red malar stripe and nape crescent)
1 Say's Phoebe
G/C and R/C Kinglet (fun to see G/Crowneds in sage)
2 Mountain Bluebird (male, female)
4 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE
2 SAGE SPARROW

Vantage HWY had a flyover Bald Eagle on our return trip west. Also a couple
of R/N Ducks on a little pond along HWY 10. A nice short trip over the
mountains in lovely weather.
