Greetings all
Anna Kalagian, Emily Tompkins and I found around 67 species in Thurston
County today. Nothing earth-shattering, but highlight was an early-arriving
Black-throated Gray with 50 or so Yellow-rumps (a couple of which appeared
to be intergrade Myrtle/Audubon's). Also two Eurasian Wigeons.

Then we drove over to Luhr Beach, hoping for a martin, but none have arrived
yet. Offshore there were many Brant, goldeneyes, eagles, etc. Then it was to
Tolmie State Park, where offshore we found Pacific Loons, three Eared Grebes
(plus Horned and Red-necked), and several calling Common Loons.

The rain actually held off most of the day, though it was windy. Treefrogs
could be heard all over.

That's all!
Cheers and good birding,
