Hi Tweets,

I was in Port Townsend yesterday to do the PT Marine Science Center trip to
Protection Island. Afterwards we stopped at Kah Tai Lagoon Nature Park to
check out the waterfowl. I was taken aback to see what appeared to be a
lone Snow Goose on the smaller pond amongst a small gathering of American
Wigeons and Greater Scaups. It had the obvious black grin-patch (as Sibley
describes it) on an adult bill. Otherwise it appeared to be a first year
juvenile transitioning to adult plumage. There was still a grayish tinge to
the greater coverts. Has anyone else seen and IDed this bird? From brief
searching it did not appear to be a domestic goose. Any thoughts? Thanks.
