Hello Tweets,

Today my mother and I relocated the adult Loggerhead Shrike along Wenzel Slough Rd. south of Satsop in the same vicinity than previously reported in our Tweeters posting yesterday. The bird again remained very active foraging from fence post,bramble patches and along the ground on both sides of Wenzel Slough Rd. We were able to obtain several additional photographs of the bird during two visits at the location and during our morning visit Tim O'Brien also observed the bird. The bird seemed to forage fairly close to the ground and favors fence posts,as well as thick bramble patches,but we also observed the bird perched in a large deciduous tree bordering a large,extensive wetland on the east side of Wenzel Slough Rd. The bird was also observed in a wider area than yesterday and may wander to further areas nearby or continue to migrate.

We checked a few other areas in close comparison to yesterday along with checking the Hoquiam STP during the early afternoon that hosted good numbers of scaups with smaller numbers of other waterfowl species,as windy conditions prevailed. We were unable to relocate the Pink-footed Goose again today,but were pleased to find out it was observed by local birder along Monte-Brady Loop Rd.,as posted onto Tweeters,presumably from private property.On our way home we stopped and checked Luhr Beach in Thurston Co.,which added a few additional species to end our day list.
