A fabulous couple of days to spend around the yard. Yesterday I sat out for
some time and watched migrating raptors from my place. In the thermals
during a couple hours of observation I had five Red-tails, three Bald
Eagles, a Northern Harrier, two Sharp-shinned Hawks, and a Turkey Vulture.
Things are happening.

Yesterday morning, I heard what sounded like a Merlin several times from an
adjacent woodlot. It called again off-and-on all day, but I never saw it.
Was wondering if jays ever imitated these birds as they do so many other
raptor species, up until about an hour ago today when the suckleyi Merlin
perched on a fir-top in plain sight. Could it have found an appropriate
nesting site here? I don't know.

It's over 75 degrees already, most pleasant!
