Hello All,
Yesterday evening up in the northwest corner of the Potholes Res., Grant Co. we watched the flyout of Black-crowned Night-herons. For 40 min. they passed in front of us until it became to dark to see. We counted 172 birds! This is the largest number we have ever seen in Washington State. We also saw 9 GBH with them. This area is an IBA ( important Bird Area) and deservedly so.

This morning back home in College Place, MerryLynn discovered a single Brewers Sparrow in our garden. A first in our yard and a first for the year.
