Sounds very much like a Varied Thrush, Nancy.

Subject: Hermit Thrush?

I am trying to identify a bird call. I heard it at about 6am this
morning. I looked up the bird I thought it might be on my Petersons CD that
has bird calls. It could be a Hermit Thrush, but I have not seen the bird.

The sound is 3 notes, high pitched with 3 different pitches.
As described in Petersons CD it is "clear, ethereal, and flutelike" and it
sounded very similar but I am not sure it is the same sound. The second
note is higher than the first and the third note is lower than the first.

If it is not a hermit thrush, are there any other possibilities?
